Why march with the Velvet Knights?

The Velvet Knights has an intangible “something” that hooks you for life. Is it the sound, the people, the audience, or is it the satisfaction of doing something even you didn’t think you could do?

It makes you feel great about yourself; it renews your hope in others. It’s the energy of being somewhere and everyone is on the same page. It’s when strangers stop and tell you how much they love your corps. It’s a five year old telling you he wants to march VK one day. It’s the training you get, the individual attention you receive to “get it right.” It’s learning to take care of business and becoming self reliant as an individual. It’s being in the most unique activity with the most unique corps in the world.

In my case it’s growing old with the same friends and passing on a legacy that makes the world smile while making friends that last a lifetime. There are a lot more reasons to march VK than not to.
